Chemical Properties
An atoms has physical and chemical properties. Since you already know the physical properties, I`ll teach you about the chemical properties. Francium is very rare, so very few of its chemical properties are known. One chemical property is that it has one oxidation state. This is a state in which the francium atom that gained an oxygen atom, lost a hydrogen atom, or lost electrons. Francium has one state and is positive one. That state is just is a strongly based oxide. One other chemical property that francium is known to have is that the atom is very unstable. This basically means that it is radioactive, or emitting radiation or particles.

Discovery
Born in Villemomble, France on 19 October, 1909. She then became a physicist and began researching on the radioactive decay of actinium. One day Marguerite Perey, a 30 year old woman, was purifying samples of lanthanum that contained some actinium molecules. When she did that, it was discovered that it was emitting unexpected radiation. After discovering the element, she named it francium after France. She later passed away on May 13, 1975 by cancer.
